Ashima Goyal is widely published in institutional and open economy macroeconomics, international finance and governance, with more than a hundred articles in national and international journals. She has also authored and edited a number of books including Macroeconomics and Markets in Developing and Emerging Economies (Routledge: UK. 2017) and A Concise Handbook of the Indian Economy in the 21st Century (OUP: India, 2015). She edits the Routledge journal Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies; has provided consultancy to ADB, DEA, GDN, UNDP, RBI, UN ESCAP and WB; is active in the Indian policy debate; and has served on several government committees, boards of educational and of financial institutions, including the RBI technical advisory committee for monetary policy.
Currently she is a Member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, an independent Director at IDBI bank and SBI Mutual Fund. She contributes a monthly column to the Hindu Business Line. She was a visiting fellow at the Economic Growth Centre, Yale University, USA, and a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow at Claremont Graduate University, USA. Her research has received national and international awards. She won two best research awards at GDN meetings at Tokyo (2000) and Rio de Janeiro (2001), was selected as one of the four most powerful women in economics, a thought leader, by Business Today (2008); was the first Professor P.R. Brahmananda Memorial Research Grant Awardee for a study on History of Monetary Policy in India since Independence (2011), which was published by Springer in 2014; received the SKOCH Challenger Award for Economic Policy (2017); Hindu College OSA Distinguished Alumni Award and 20th FLO FICCI GR8 Beti Award for Excellence in Economics (2018).

As an IT Consultant/CIO/Entrepreneur for nearly 15 years, and concurrently as a passionate teacher (for 20 years) Dr Pendse describes his purpose in life as "helping others succeed". He is a BE, MMS, PhD and at present as a Dean at WeSchool, he leads IT/e-Business area and Co-Leads the Business Design & Innovation area. He is also leads the CIO and CISO functions.
He has been acknowledged for starting and leading the pioneering PGDM e-Business, the PGDM Business Design, the IT Vertical course and the first edition of the case based course called Integrative Manager which is taught across most PGDM programs at WeSchool.
Among the pioneers in India in the areas of Project Leadership, Business Analysis and Business Design/Innovation Management he has trained over 10000 IT professionals and the first Indian author to write a book on Business Analysis (Prentice - 2008). His core areas of teaching have been MIS, Business Analysis, IT Strategy, Digital Business & Strategy. Strategic Management, Innovation Management, IT Project Management.
He was bestowed with the Fellowship by the Computer Society of India, the Best IT Teacher awards instituted by the Dewang Mehta foundation and again by the Higher Education Forum and distinguished Alumus award by the NMIMS. Through his career as a Consultant /IT Entrepreneur/CIO/ Training he has served over 100 organisations including the likes of KEC International, Ceat, MUSCO, Patni, Mastek, Polaris, Accelya Kale to name a few.
Over the past 2 decades, he has contributed to several professional bodies such as CSI, IMC, ISACA, PMI, CIO KLUB, Bombay Chamber of Commerce to name a few and has been a frequent speaker on many professional platforms. He has also been a Jury for several awards notably the Information Week Magazine's award for Global CIO and the EDGE Awards, the CISCO CIO awards, the Center for Recognitions - CIO Awards and Hot Startup Awards to name a few.
He has been on the visiting faculty of several leading institutes such as the JBIMS, SPJain, TISS, NMIMS and over 20 others and has been on the advisory/program advisory/staff selection committees of VJTI, TISS, Somaiya Engineering / Somaiya Institute of Management and a few others.

Previously, he was Executive Editor of Mint, a financial daily, where he managed the opinion section, wrote the daily editorials and the award-winning Café Economics column. He also helped launch the data journalism initiative at the newspaper. Before joining Mint, he was Deputy Editor of Business World, a financial magazine.
Niranjan was awarded the Jefferson Fellowship by the East-West Center in Hawaii in 1998. He received the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards for excellence in opinion writing two years in a row (2010 and 2011). He won the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2012 and the B.R. Shenoy Award for Economics in 2017. Niranjan is a member of the academic advisory board of the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics and the board of trustees of the Centre for Civil Society. He was also a member of the advisory committee on the fifth volume of the official history of the Reserve Bank of India, written by Tirthankar Roy. He has served on the economics curriculum advisory committees of the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy, Ramnarain Ruia College and Welingkar Institute of Management.
Niranjan holds a BA and MA in Economics from Mumbai University and his PhD thesis has been submitted to the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy.
